A total of 333 players have registered themselves in the auction process to be held in Dubai on December 19 for the IPL season. Out of these only 77 players will get actual place. This includes India's fast bowlers Umesh Yadav, Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur and the base price of all of them has been set at Rs 2 crore.
Two years ago, a huge bid of Rs 10.75 crore was made for Harshal. The IPL Governing Council had handed over a list of 1166 players to the franchises. Currently, out of the 77 vacancies in the IPL, 30 are for foreign cricketers. This is likely to result in higher bids for Australian players once again. Because world-winning captain Pat Cummins, Travis Head, wicket-keeper Jos English and star fast bowler Mitchell Starc have a base price of Rs 2 crore.

Sri Lanka's star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has a base price of 1.5 crores. However, as he is currently not fully recovered from the injury, the franchises will not be ready to shell out a huge price for him.
